Bill of Rights on MARS!!!!! Mars would be 100% dependent on earth. All of their supplies and equipment would come from Earth. People on Mars would never risk breaking ties with Earth by making a country. Assuming that people on Mars have some magical technology that doesn't make them dependent on earth, here would be their bill of rights. Amendment 1: The right of free speech and religion They would have instant streaming access to Earth, to communicate using the internet. (note: not assembly and petition) Amendment 2: No search and seizure without warrant The same as the US. Amendment 3: No cruel and unusual punishment nor any bail, and a speedy trial. (note: no public court case) Amendment 4: No people are entitled to more than other people A communist community would work best Amendment 5: All people are entitled to adequate food, water, air, and necessary equipment (note: mars would be incredibly rich, and a good place to trade with) Amendment 6: Jury compos...

Some weird Mars stuff.

Prompt: Describe the world you come from -- for example, your family, community or school -- and tell us how your world has shaped your dream to journey to Mars. Answer: I come from Santa Barbara, and I go to Laguna Blanca school. I live in Santa Barbara. SB is currently in a drought, I have seen how both us planting water consuming plants and how climate change has affected how bad the drought is. I have seen how the weather conditions have worsened because of climate change. I have seen how pollution can mess stuff up, how the Earth is doomed at the rate we’re going. I was inspired, ironically, by Scott Kelly, telling me we should go to mars. He mentioned that one day, the air over China completely cleared, there was no sign of pollution, people in China could see the blue sky for once. This was because China shut off one third of the coal plants and vehicles stopped because of a holiday, if people put the money to go to mars into fixing earth, it would make everything bett...

Declaration of Independence: Homework Remix

CRINGE WARNING When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for me to dissolve the bands which have connected me with Homework, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that I should declare the causes which impel me to the separation. Homework cost just too much time for me to still rely on it. Homework is badly organized, some days I have no homework other days I have three or four assignments. Homework does not work for me, I would prefer classwork and tests, then homework as well. My grade can go down because I turned in a paper late.

Two Poems

Image
!!!!!CRINGE WARNING!!!!! The first poem I wrote is about Junior. Junior is an indian who lives on the reservation and has a life that evolves from good to bad. Junior is a leader because he goes choose his own path. I am from the tv, the dirty house, and the empty refrigerator I am from the rez, where nothing ever happens I am from getting beaten up hundreds of times I am from Hitchhiking home From leaving the rez I am from Mary, Grandma, and Rowdy I am from staying the same From going nowhere I am from playing basketball, Trying my best to win the game I am from guilt fear and grief I am from all the people I ever loved I am from the rez, and its people. The second poem I wrote is about Mr. P, a teacher. Mr. P was very about getting rid of indian culture when he was young, now as an old man he sees his mistakes. Mr. P was a leader when he was working to make indians less indian. ...

How the Colonial Era Relates to My Life

Image
Life in the colonies was very different than my life today. Formal Education was uncommon in the colonial era, but today we go from preschool to college and lots of the time past that. Almost half of children died before they reached adulthood in the colonial era, but today dying as a child is extremely uncommon. Colonial law was fairly similar to law today. For leisure in the colonies people would gather to do certain activities. Today leisure for me is video games. Religion in Puritan colonies was very strict. Religious laws had harsh punishment. Today religion is completely free. Life in the colonies was way harder than life today (for me).

Tribes

Image
In english we are reading a book titled An Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian , a very strange book. The main character of this book is named Junior. He identifies with many different "tribes". I am supposed to list three "tribes" I identify with. The first "tribe" I identify with is the tribe of Karate brown belts not wanting to test for black belt. The second "tribe" I identify with is the tribe of people living in California. I also identify with the "tribe" cat lovers. So now you know even more things about me.
Things to describe me. I am supposed to answer these questions so that you can know who I am: Where I come from: I come from Washington. Not Washington D.C., Washington the state. I am from Issaquah, a small town near Seattle. What matters (to me): Cats, cats are nice.  What I love:  Cats. Cheese too, Cheese is good.  Where I am going:  I would love to say that I am going to change the world, but I find that statistically unlikely. I am going to High school, I am going to college. I am going to always like cats.  What I dread:  Death. Not because it's scary, but because it would be annoying to die before I can live my whole life.  What I hope for:  Lunch. I'm hungry.  What I need:  A sandwich. Or a piece of chocolate  Who I am:  An eight grader. My name is Conley, by the way.
